Mmmm. . . . sounds del.icio.us

What is Del.icio.us? It’s social bookmarking (adding to Favorites). There are many reason to use this tool. It’s something like Digg or Newsvine, but if you aren’t familiar with del.icio.us than you probably aren’t familiar with Digg or Newsvine.

  1. For one thing it stores your bookmarks online, so you can reach them from anywhere.
  2. You can tag your bookmarks with keywords, and thus find them via this tag, just like you tag your messages in Gmail. On top of that though, it suggests tags for you that others have already tagged the same link with. So you just click the tag instead of typing it.
  3. Other’s can view your bookmarks. For instance, today I was searching for sound effects on the Internet. I search using del.icio.us and only found the sites that other people thought were helpful. If I had search with just Google, I would had to weed through to find the better sites.

Since I have started using del.icio.us, I hardly use my FireFox bookmarks, since I can access my online bookmarks from work and from home.
